A1-ST cannot save screen settings

Hello there,

I have a MSX TURBO-R A1ST. I really like to use it setting width 80. My problem is that I cannot save the settings.

I have already tried SET SCREEN command, and I also have changed several times the batteries (at the bottom of the computer).

I think that's a hardware problem, but I don't know how to repair it.

Any idea?

Doesn't the A1ST, like the A1GT use an ordinary penlite battery? Check the bottom of your turboR and check for a battery cover!

I had the same problem with my Turbo-R GT. Try removing the batteries (2xAA) and cleaning up the contacts. It worked for me. (The old batteries in my computer must have leaked and oxidised the contacts)

indeed a battery problem i have the same thing here ! (need to put new battery's in it)

Anyway, I already cleaned the contacts and I already changed the batteries (several times).

Are you using alkaline or rechargeable batteries? I vaguely remember my GT being quite picky with rechargeables... Also, are you sure that nothing is running at boot that might change the width?

The last time I changed the batteries I used ones from IKEA.

I think I'll check again and I'll post the results, or some photos, if that helps.
