yesterday showed us that rio is REALLY safe and pacified and not in a bloody war, just like slot said.

Rio de Janeiro IS BEING pacified, and as such, criminals are desperately using random attacks to force government to stop the drug combat policy. The result was a disaster... for drug dealers, since now police, militar forces and population are all against them. We have a problem that´s finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel...

...and IIRC, we´ve all seen similar criminal/terrorist menaces in many countries, like Colombia, Italy, Spain, UK, Israel etc.

All these countries attacked the problem, and now it´s our turn in Rio de Janeiro.

be smart and do a MSX Rio Grande do Sul event and a lot of people will come

Well concerning brazilian girl's the top place is salvador bahia... But well for MSX RIO will do fine , even if i don't plan to go to see any football game

Agree with Sander here, I'd rather pick a quieter moment. In fact, if I'd ever visit Rio, I would want to avoid a soccer event like FIFA World Cup. An MSX event would not be enough reason to go there from the other side of the world, but would be nice to include MSX event in Rio visit.

The optimal solution is to not have a problem... Read: if a problem starts growing, not sit around & do nothing until things are so bad that fixing it means creating a 'war zone'.

I do agree with that. We had years of inneficient crime combat and now we have to fix it in a single week. Still, better later than never.

so, by shooting a little in front of the cameras, police and the army will solve the problem. drug dealers will not return, they will escape into magic kingdom. and police will not take their place. ok. perfect. it's all ENTEI now.

Bahhh, just to make things clear:
People born in Rio ALWAYS (ALWAYS) say: "That happens on several cities all around the world..." or "I never had a problem in Rio, but someone I know was robbed in Paris" or this new one "They're only angry because police is (just now) fighting against them"

FACT: It's a war zone. Drug dealers don't respect anything, they kill people randomically, they shoot from their favelas and several civilians get killed by "lost bullets" and etc...
and guess what? WHY Rio de Janeiro is now on this situation?
