The Japanese chiptune composer Hackurl has released an MSX2 remake, using the PSG and MSX-MUSIC, of the BGM to stage one of Valis V. You can listen to this and many other chiptune remakes on Hackurl's website

Telenet Japan are to release a new game in the Valis series, of which the first two editions (Valis 1 - The Fantasm Soldier and Valis 2 - The Fantasm Soldier) were released on MSX as

MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg have published a small photo shoot with pictures taken on their most recent meeting, which was held on March 11th. You can find the photo shoot in the 'Clubverslag' section of the MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg website.

ViewMSX, an MSX picture viewer for the Win32 platform, has just recieved another update. This time, the rendering engine was rewritten, which makes larger files display a lot faster, even on slower computers. The bitbuster decompression routines were also rewritten, making viewing large G9B files much faster.

Apart from this, two new formats are now supported in ViewMSX: SGX and VID files.

One year after its launch, MSX History celebrates its birthday with the following updates:

  • Label of Konami´s Mahjong
  • Program languages section with an article on COBOL for MSX
  • The first part of a new PASCAL programming course specifically targeted at coding for MSX
  • Restyled front page

Konami and IIJ (Internet Initiative Japan) have launched a games section on i-revo (internet revolution) in which classic retro games from Konami can be obtained.

The spanish website Knightmare Saga, dedicated to the Knightmare game serie on MSX and NES computers, has been updated with maps of the 8 stages of Knightmare. Kinghtmare is the first game in this series which consists of Knightmare, The Maze Of Galious and Shalom.

FAT16 driver 0.11

At the end of last year, Okei released a new version of her FAT16 driver for MSX-DOS2, fixing a bug in the directory display routines. The FAT16 driver can be used on IDE, SCSI and CompactFlash interfaces in order to be able to access FAT16 partitions on MSX.
