The MSX Games bOX just started a new initiative to make one game review every month. Read the first review about Maoi-Tech's Blue Warrior, a Knightmare-style game released in 2000. Next month (before X-Mas), you can look forward to a detailed test on KPI-Ball.

We just finished sending the fourth MSX Resource Center newsletter to all our members who signed up to receive our mailinglist as well. As usual, the newsletter contains a summary of the latest MSX news, sometimes with a little more information than the news postings on our website. This time we even had some news that has not been on the site yet.

Gashisoft did it again, after making an amazing MIDI replayer called GXSCC (which uses SCC and OPLL sounds for playing MIDI files), Gashisoft releases BeepMIDI. This one is really funny and old-school, as it uses the good old PC-Speaker to play MIDI files. Unfortunately beepmidi is only available on the Japanese pages of Gashisoft.

About a year ago, the TMT_net project was started. At first, a network cartridge for MSX was created. During the past months the TMT_net system was ported to other systems as well. Now it is possible to connect MSX computers with other homecomputers like Commodore 64, Sinclair ZX Spectrum etc. with TMT_net. The first MSX cartridges will be available in 2003.

The whole site has been updated and restyled. The website contains information on MSX, several MIDI files, an MSX Museum, information on Emulators and more. Every page is available, except for the Game Covers.

Brainfuck for MSX

Nyyrikki wrote a brainfuck compiler for MSX which compiles brainfuck sources for CP/M compatilbe systems with optional optimizations for MSX. Brainfuck is - believe it or not - a programming language, and a very special one. Brainfuck was developed in 1993 by Urban Müller from Switzerland.

MCWF meeting

This weekend, the MCWF will have one of their well-known user meetings once again. As usual, the meeting is held in 'Buurthuis De Cogge' at 'De Akkerwinde' in Zwaag (near Hoorn). There will be a game-competition, a new newsletter and more. It's an excellent opportunity to meet some fellow active MSX users.
