Boukichi released a C-compiler that creates code for MSX-cartridges. SDCC stands for Small Device C Compiler. It's a compiler for any Win32-based system, and it's released under GPL. Go check it out!

Our current poll shows the MSX is well known for its diversity in soundchips. Over the years, the PSG has got many competition from other more sophisticated chips.Every now and then, there is a software release which is focusing on the PSG alone.

In the weekend of October 19-20 there will be an Italian MSX User & Retrocomputing meeting in Spresiano (TV) Italy! Mainly, it will be a MSX meeting but several other machines will be exposed. Participants: MSX Club Brescia, Freesoft MSX Club Rome, and all the other MSX users (new and old!) from each corner of Italy!

MSX DEN-YU land postponed

Because of the two upcoming MSX books, that will probably rise the interest in MSX in Japan, the organization of MSX DEN-YU land have decided to postpone the fair. The fair will now be held in the (japanese) spring at the end of this year, or perhaps even at the beginning of 2003.

Imahi reported that there are currently two new MSX books about to be released.In the end of this year, ASCII will release a MSX PLAYer magazine, which will also contain a CD-ROM with MSX Software and documentation.Before that, Shuwa systems will release a book on MSX.

Many people were impressed by the demonstration of openMSX in Tilburg. After the fair a lot of people tried to install openMSX on their Linux machines but failed running into strange errors while compiling.

Hans Otten sent us a link to the Calamar Group page, a Spanish user group who make software and hardware for MSX. One of their latest projects is the PSX2MSX project which enables you to connect a Playstation joypad to any MSX.
