Many of us who try to understand at least a little of the text on some Japanese webpages are using a translation site like babelfish.altavista.com. We forget slang, and we are getting used to reading text wich sound likes some baby's first words. Anyways, I stumbled to a new one today (at least new to me) wich I -of course- share again with you.

Boukichi released a new version of C-BIOS which now emulates the SCREEN2 palette correctly.Boukichi still needs the help of the MSX Community. Not only for information on the MSX architecture, or for a new name for this MSX Compatible BIOS. Boukichi would also like you to test the sound-test mode and compare the sound to the real thing.

Daniel Caetano has almost finished translating Konami's Snatcher to Portuguese. The translation scripts are being updated so translation to other languages becomes a lot easier. The automatic break-line feature of the script importer is almost running perfect as well.But, more important, a tool to run Snatcher from harddisk is created.
MSX friends offline is a 36-page booklet with information on creating fractals, 3D graphics and (semi)-artificial intelligence on MSX in BASIC. The booklet has just been introduced in Japan and costs 800 yen (ex. shipping).

Today, Hans Otten's MSX hardware/documentation site was updated. New additions:Hans Oranje (Hardware Partners Nederland and HCC MSX gg) is a very knowledgeble MSX hardware designer and still active with updates.He has recently done a memory upgrade of a Philips NMS8250 to 1Mb using a 30 pins SIMM.

Boukichi released a new version of C-BIOS, the rewritten BIOS compatible with the original MSX BIOS.New BIOS-CALLS implemented are: INITGRP (only for Screen 2), CHGMOD and H.STKE. Also the memory recognition system has been rewritten, some bugs were fixed and a sound-test was added!Boukichi is still looking for a new name of this BIOS. Mail him if you have a nice suggestions.

Marco Antonia Simon Dal Poz has succeeded in making a PSG replacement in FPGA. To test this, he disconnected the PSG chip from an MSX and connected the FPGA to it. And it all worked like a charm.One of the benefits of this FPGA chip is that it does not depend on a 4MHz clock.
