Ghosts 'n Goblins for MSX

The 1985 Capcom game Ghosts'n Goblins has been ported to MSX! The original game had been ported to many systems already, but an MSX port was never realized. In this platform game you control knight Arthur through the various stages to save his beloved who's been kidnapped by a messenger of Satan.

On the rapidly expanding 1chipMSX information page new tutorials have been published as a result of continuous requests from a part of the 1chipMSX community: a tutorial about using disk images, a tutorial about the ESE-RAM and ESE-SCC and a tutorial about loading ROM images.

Chiptune encyclopedia poke-1,170 has released episode 26 of his Airwaves radio show, which is dedicated to chip music and electronic music.

The next version of the MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ emulator, fMSX, has just been released! Starting with this release, fMSX-Unix support is reintroduced. The new fMSX-Unix is available in the source code form from the web site. Here is the full list of changes, additions and fixes in fMSX 3.5:

  • After a long pause, the fMSX-Unix port was finally updated.

This saturday, february the 9th, dutch MSX club MSX Vriendengroep Mariënberg will organize her annual MSX auction. With this auction, the club aims to prevent MSX software and hardware from ending up in the trash bin, and this event is thus the ideal place for collectors to hunt for MSX goodies. The meeting opens at 10:00.

Ever since the early 1990s MSX developers around the world used impressive MSX demos as means to show their impressive development skills. Creating effects that often were deemed impossible on MSX, making us laugh with funny animations or just plain old egoboosting: the MSX demo scene had (and still has!) a lot to offer.

XL2s - Projects page

XL2s Entertainment have made a projects page on their website, roughly a week ago already. This projects page gives some insight in what this Dutch MSX duo is working on. An overview of their activities:

  • Dash! - A Boulderdash clone.

There can't ever be enough maps from MSX games, and this is what drives map maker only_69. His website approaches 30.000 visits, and can thus be considered highly popular.
