After releasing several beta versions of his Internet Suite for MSX-DOS2, Néstor Soriano (a.k.a. Konamiman) released a final version of InterNestor Suite. This means there will be no more updates, unless bugs are found. With InterNestor it's possible to create your own Internet applications for MSX (like an IRC cliënt).

The developer of Bargain released a new version of his homemade Z80 assembler as well. This assembler was coded in QBASIC 1.1 so if you want to give it a try, you'll need a PC with MS-DOS 6.22 installed.

A new version of the image compression kit Bargain was released. Bargain compresses image files for SCREEN 5 - SCREEN 12 and comes with a nice user-interface to browse for files.

USB MSX cartridge reader

It seems that MSX Association slowly begins with new hardware developments. The first device will be an USB-based MSX cartridge reader, which you can hook up on your PC. With this device, it will be possible to use MSX cartridges from within a MSX emulator.

Yes, you read it right the first time. The MSX Resource Center is now officially a foundation. We decided to raise this foundation because were doing more and more activities for the MSX Community, and we plan to do so even more in the (near) future. We had just moved from free hosting to faster, more reliable, yet quite costly hosting and raising a foundation sounded like a logical second step.

It has been almost three years since the latest make-over of our website. In 2000 - after a period of silence - we started serving the MSX community from a humble ASP webserver at Host2go/Esearch, who have been kind enough to host our website for free.
