Hey guys I'm currently bug fixing a game called Spaceman from an old dutch magazine. Ive got it up and running but have noticed some strange artifacts in the sprites. Basically the two animated spaceships have misplaced pixels. Now yes i know its more than likely its in the data statements but I've checked these, twice , three times or more now and they seem perfect. also in one example the first 4 lines of the sprite are simply 0 as there should be no pixels present so its very easy to verify or check. So indeed there is no mistake in the data statement but there are pixels present on the sprite :/ Any ideas what could be wrong ? I'm wondering if there might be some fault with the MSX ? The power led does not always light or is not very bright so with a few sharp taps it will come on so likely just a cracked solder joint so could that lead to graphical corruption ?
Sprite Corruption / Graphic Artifacts ?
Most magazines had a checksum system to verify that the program was entered correctly. You could use it to make sure it is indeed correct. Also, sometimes there were corrections published in a later issue... Did you check that?
Besides, this game can be found on the VERZ85 disk image of CLUBMAG (available on MCCM CD-ROM) or the Best of MSX Mozaïk 1985 disk (listing available on tfh site).
Ive been informed one page was repeated twice overwriting a page of code so the listing is unusable :/
You are probably talking about the PDF file, there is a "BASIC listings" section on tfh site. SPACEMAN.BAS can be found there (MSX Mozaik/1985/2).

Thx mars. Ive had a look and have already found a couple of errors / inconsistencies. The SPACEMAN.BAS file however is what i initially started with found on the archive you mentioned. Its been a bit of a headache but also great as the errors has given me deeper understanding of MSX Basic.
Ive started to download all the MSX Mosaik Magazines and notice that issue 1 1985 has only one page ??? I think its page 22 so what happened to the rest of the first issue ? Anyone got it ?
Check the wiki, you will have the answer.
If I remember correctly, spaceman was published in two parts, so it's normal that a part is missing if you only look at one magazine.
Which magazine is this in? I seem to have missed that.
Oh MSX Mozaïek 1 and 2, written by Wimpie3!
