I've downloaded the 5 disks of Fray for TurboR from File-Hunter and I've concatenated them using cat in linux to make a big dsk file. I've run sofarun in Carnivore2 using MSX-TurboR and it splits the five dsk files. When I run them, it appears the image of Microcabin. After some time, the carnivore2 flashes in green as it was reading the compact flash card and it doesn't do anything else. I've tried different combination of settings and to start by a different disk without success.
Is there a special setting?
PS: The command I've used to concatenate the disks is cat file1.dsk file2.dsk file3.dsk file4.dsk file5.dsk > Fray.dsk
I currently don't have a C2 but I did some tests on all other storage carts I have with SofaRun as well as any native tools if available:

I've done the cat of the dsk files that have the same sha1sum as yours and I've tried sofarun with carnivore2 without success. It appears the screen with Microcabin letters (initial logo) and after a while, the carnivore flashes (and so does the CAPS LED) and the screen stays in blank.
I've also tried to run only the first disk alone and it does the same.
Okay, I guess SofaRunIt has some issues on C2. What version is your C2? Could you try creating a new configuration using C2MAN where you only add IDE (or maybe you already have such a config). If you boot that config and try again, is there a change?
The turboR version of Fray is one of those games that does not work with SofaRunIt. There seems to be something special with this game (maybe a remaining protection mechanism accessing the disk drive directly, or conflicts on memory usage, I've never been able to fix this so far).
Anyway, note that the MSX 2 version of Fray patched for turboR by Victor Martinez works. I do not remember exactly the differences between the MSX 2 and the turboR versions of Fray (the intro movie is a bit different), but you'll have all the turboR speed improvements and FM-PAC musics with this version.
Let me know if you do not know where to find this version.

I've looked for Victor Martinez's patches and I've found references for nemesis and other games but not the one you mentioned. I'd be very grateful if you could tell me where to find it.
By the way, I've also looked for other ways to run dsk files and I've found multimente and M-file, but I haven't tried them. Can they run multidisks?

But my tests actually show it does boot and the demo runs (jepmsx did not get that far apparently so I did not test further). At what point is it supposed to stop working?
