S blocks in Space Manbow

What are they for? B is bombs, O is options, W is wave, but what are the S blocks for ? I don't notice any speed difference, in any case.

They speed you up. The speedup is incremental so the first one you pick isn't very noticeable. But after 3 or 4 it gets you really going.

I always thought "W" was for "Wide". But I haven't checked the manual for it

Must be really incremental then. In level 5 I can't even go left after, I don't know, maybe 50 s boxes?

Also, bombs are M, not B of course .

And W could also be wide, why not. This game is so expensive, anyone has a manual?

"M" is Missile, I think

Power Capsule - Red
Speed Up - S
Needle Shot - N
Wide Shot - W
Missile - M
Black Hole Bomb - Blue
Option - O

But to clarify, what I meant with "I can't go left', that's relative to the surroundings. So in level 5 I sometimes have to "wait" for one of those blue vertical beams to open to let me pass. Then I just press left and my ship stays in place relative to the beam and everything else, because it scrolls that fast.

I never notice any difference, no matter how many S blocks I pick up. That's why I was doubting it.
