I'm starting to work on a new game and I'd like to compose a few tunes with that true SCC sound. Does anyone know of any good KSS sequencers available? Thanks.

TriloTracker is the latest tracker, pretty stable and actively worked on. (TriloTracker beta thread) (Trilo Tracker - SOLID SNAKE demo - by Gryzor87). Note there's also an FM version in the making (not as mature as the (original) SCC edition yet).
I notice the TT-OFFICIAL-PACK.zip
on Gryzor87's page is offline. That's a pitty, as that was/is a pretty sweet pack as I recall it. I can upload it somewhere, or Huey could chime in here? :)
(-UPDATE: it's at a new location: http://gr87.com/trilo-tracker-manual/)
The GitHub project page may have more up-to-date info/documentation than the trilobyte TT wiki page btw.
+ there's also, brand new alpha WIP: /forum/msx-talk/development/realfun-3
Cool stuff! Thanks a lot, ren!
Will the game be for MSX or PC/Mac?
The following thread might be of interest as well:
MSX emulated sound VST for FL Studio?
Good luck composing! (Feel free to share some tunage when you created something ;)
Thanks for the link! As much as I'd love to make it for the real MSX, I still haven't found the toolchain that matches my creative process. I'm keeping an eye on the developments with C libraries, but I have yet to see a skeleton project that I can look and say "this is it".
Currently, I'm just too comfortable with the bliss that is writing games with Videogame, so it'll be probably an MSX-like macOS/Windows/web game like my previous titles. I'll definitely stick to the standard MSX resolution, like I did with Cityscape, because that's the kind of looks I like in a game.
To be honest, the only reason why Starship and Ms. Starship have higher resolution is because that's what the now defunct Chrome Web Store dictated back when I started working on them. Should I start working on these today, I'd definitely make all graphics tailored for the beautiful 256x192 resolution. Downscaling them now that they're finished would feel a little bit weird, though. Or not, maybe I actually do this, eventually.
is there a reason you need kss files in particular?
I just need the SCC sound, actually. I know that I can play KSS files through Audio Overload with high fidelity. But if I could write music with a different format that in the end also sounds like the SCC, I wouldn't care if it's KSS or not.
