Has Go Penguin music and sounds already?
PT3? That's Vortex Tracker then?
I don't know other tool that can generate or convert to PT3 files... but maybe there are some.
can't you use one of arkos existing players as inline asm?
ASM players I found for Arkos on MSX use a syntax not supported by SDCC assembler (I'm programing in C language).
I never managed to run Arkos players in my programs.
Wich syntax they use? You know you have to assemble them using Rasmus assembler (included in the package) and then you can disassemble them to a "plain" z80 asm files using disark (included in the package this one too)
I've seen this, but I don't know enough about assembler to know how to do this in practice.
It's a nice tune Totta
It has a "radarsoft vibe"
but perhaps only using 2 channels for those tunes meaning that (if someone is interested) my first song could be used as the title music for a game and my other songs could be stage music where it's possible to also have sound effects?
you can write 3 channel music. arkos players are able to "overwrite" music in the channel where an sfx is played and then continue music normally. For best results you can use a channel less than other two so the sfx can be played in that channel resulting in less annoyance on melody
Hi Totta,
big props and kudos for your track! I really like to see other people's work with Arkos 2.
Like you I started creating tracker music just last year after a long period of inactivity.
Like thegeps said, in general its possible to use all 3 channels for game music with Arkos 2 Tracker. When composing, you should define one channel that plays "supportive" notes or instruments, that you can sacrifice for a short time. This way, this channel is used to play soundFX.
All this applies to my experience collected with an ongoing WIP game over the last months.
We use the Arkos AKG Player.
Examples how BGM playback and SoundFX playback can work in an MSX game using Arkos players are:
Freedom Fighter from thegeps
Alien Attack ("my" game project)
Hope that helps you for your future musical creations.
Keep up!
I used Arkos 2 in these games as well (combining music and SFX):
Make them jump
Make them fall
Blockbuster

Hi ToriHino, thanks for your addition of further examples. And: very nice set of games there from you.
Kudos to you!
Night Knight too from Juan J. Martinez has arkos 2 music+sfx
Probably some other tunes for pure PSG before I jump to SCC or something else.
When you do switch to SCC you could give realfun 3 a try ... although it is not very user friendly and I think I am still the only one who has some idea of how it works
Ha - despite of the testers who conjured quite some nice things out of it, we keep getting the same complaint about TriloTracker.
With both RF3 and TT, it must be that people get scared off by the hexadecimal notations.
