MSXdev21 #7 - Klondike Solitaire | MSX Resource Center

Solitaire is a fun card game for every one to enjoy. Create stacks of cards on the solitaire board by stacking cards downward alternating color. Shift through the stock cards to add extra cards to the solitaire game. The ultimate goal of Klondike Solitaire is to add all the cards into their foundations in the top right based on suit from Ace to King. A game by Under4Mhz.

Contestants have until the end of August to submit their entries. If you are enjoying this MSXdev game, why not consider donating to the price money. 100% of the donations will go to the game developers.

The MSXdev21 contest runs from Jan 1st to Sep 1st, 2021.

This is a great implementation of this card game for MSX1.
The two button controls work like a charm and I greatly enjoyed the game.

Since there is no contact info for the developer, allow me to post a few small annoyances (bug reports?)

If you place a turned card from the deck on one of the stacks, the back-face of the stack disappears. This gave the impression that all cards from the deck were played, trying to turn a new card solved it. So this is only a visual annoyance but still...
A more problematic issue is the fact that when going up in the stacks it is sometimes impossible to select the first card. When pressing up the selector immediately jumps to the upper card of the stack to the right.

Can you add the by Threes option please.
Auto-detection of the inability to continue would also be nice.

Nice game.

In this case, we are not supposed to be able to put the 8 in the free slot?
Without this option, the game is really "luck" based.

Usually, you can only put a king in a free slot.

Although I really like this version, it makes me nostalgic for the Amiga Klondike Deluxe AGA. By far the best version every released with custom cardsets and a soothing music track... Memories...

I was thinking the same. Some people use some slang word I am not going to repeat here to refer to the queen, and I think the graphics match it perfectly.

Under4mhz has been releasing quality games for both MSX and SG-1000! (more of his work on the homebrew section on SMS Power).

Great to finally have a good solitaire for MSX now! Nice programmed. Very smooth. Nice graphics indeed! More a 'massive' queen... ;-) Big pixels! hahaha
