Thanks. Such conversions are nothing new though, they've been done before by RicBit (Girl's Garden, N-Sub) and MSXFiles (Bomb Jack, Mikie, Orguss, Dragon Wang, Star Jacker), as .com files. The only change here is it can be legally distributed.
(BiFi: before you might ask, if you want to add the IPS without other files (readme, source) to ips.tni.nl, you have my permission as long as you provide credit)
SEGA itself also ported SG-1000 games to MSX. I think all the SEGA carts for MSX are SG-1000 conversions
Good patch and hope we'll see a new patch in the future
Yours,
I don't think I'll do any more SG-1000 conversions, besides, we're running out of good games
The SG-1000 version of H.E.R.O. it's a bizarre looking one!. I haven't play this one; but I'm tempted to compare it against the MSX version
Hi, Hap. I highly support this conversion very well and I like it. Although, there is a topic I posted for my own SG-1000 to MSX conversions. I used Bomb Jack to do it. The titles work, although it's the controller and sound conversion I'm having trouble with. Is there anything I can do about it? As I followed, the SG-1000 uses BEh and BFh, while MSX uses 98h and 99h. It might be that I only did the conversion part which was D3 BE, D3 BF, DB BE, and DB BF. Thanks if responded.
Although, it does suck that you stopped.
Hi, Manuel pointed me to this forum thread.
It's unfortunate you ran into a problem, I don't think I can help you with the details.
You'll need to program new routines for the controls and sound. In my case I wrote a mini emulator (it converted SG-1000 sound port writes to AY8910 compatible writes)
Oh, okay, I did a little more conversions. I'm going to check how Bomb Jack was coded inside, but that loader itself for a conversion is pretty decent. Keep up the good work.
Nyan Cat for the SG-1000 by nitrofurano works well without those both.
