Hi, i've just finished my 3D printed Philips VG-8020 MSX model (1/2 scale).

It was the computer I had when I was a kid and the one I learned to code with so, once I bought a 3D printer and learned to model with Blender, this was the next logical step.

It can hold a Raspberry Pi and some other electronics inside so an emulator can be installed.

Wow! This is the best MSX related home-made project ever! The final product is commercial grade. Only the manual is missing. While the 3d printed box is a luxury, the device itself will be welcomed by the retro community. You should definitely sell it.

I see that you are using the Anycubic i3 Mega or similar printer. Can you share your slicer's configuration and printing profiles?

How do you make the custom decals? Maybe laser engraving and painting the engraved areas will be better?

wow, this is awesome. You should sell it! Come to think of it, these days when everybody releases mini-versions, why doesn't philips or any other msx manufacturer from the past do the same.

Thanks for the advices. The custom decals can be made at home by anyone. You need a color ink-jet printer, some sheets of special paper and liquid film that needs to be apply to the paper after printing.

I used the default settings in my Anycubic i3 Mega to print the MSX parts. The box can be printed also with the default configuration but it takes ages. You can lower the infill down to 6% and the top, bottom and wall layer count to 3.

It can be a great gift for anyone you love. I made three of these (box+msx+controller+power brick) and gave one of them to the friend I share my MSX love with when we were kids. He had a hard time holding back his tears.
