How about Bank Buster ?
I know it's not really 3d, but some of the items look 3d (like those pillars). There's diamonds, multiple screens to go through and I think that if you hit an alarm then some police man will start chasing you (not sure about that anymore though).

I feel like John may have hit the nail right on the head with Midnight Brothers, as that really sounds like the game being described here. Msxgamer, are you still around? I'm kind of curious now to know if that is it, or if it's something nobody's suggested yet!

The only other game I'm thinking it MIGHT be is Iligks Episode IV, a.k.a. Illegus, and I don't actually know if that fits thematically with what's being described here -- though I have a copy of it on the way, so I should know the answer to that very soon!

Indeed, it's primarily an information database, but next to software, also for hardware and publications.

In a minor number of instances, some translated games are downloadable from there, but offering/pirating software has never been the purpose of the site.
