file-hunter.com updated

After almost 10 years of no updates, The File-Hunter from FONY has managed to update his website, giving it a fresh new look. Some old stuff (like the music-sections) has been removed, while other pages have been updated. The FONY section now not only features the downloads of their demos, but you can also watch their demos online!
Besides that, TFH has put 50 of his favorite MSX games online for you to play in your browser. This is based on the WebMSX Emulator by Paulo Augusto Peccin.

BTW, quite funny to see in the logs which games are loaded the most

It's nice to see that people are activly using the MSX section to play games. Some stay well for over an hour and play quite a lot

Yeah, it was about time ;-) And that's what I have a bit to much at the moment ;-)
But I am quite happy with the result. I already wanted to update the site for quite some time and had some ideas, which were made possible with the MSX2 support of WebMSX and the fact that due to circumstances I have to much free time.
The site looks nice now and people use it to play games, so TFH is a happy camper.

Indeed. But fortunately the site is pretty small/compact (<11Mbyte). I just noticed it in the logs.
I've considered adding a "website download link", but that would turn it into a game download link and I didn't feel like doing that and I guess that sites like MRC also wouldn't allow links anymore.

I still see it happen now and then though. Should I add a file-hunter.com.zip link? Dunno...

That's the reason, I did some hardening on directory access etc, and instead of error documents all redirect to main website.
Since website itself on files ain´t huge, but the file downloads like maps etc, increase the bandwisth a lot, since the files are like 1mb to 7mb. and with webrippers trafic usage increases fast, f.e 302 maps downloads alone has atm about 392 Mb of content.

HTTrack can also be set (actually, it is by default) to not hammer too much...
I recently used it to dump an inactive Wiki on a legacy server, just left it running overnight without going too fast so it wouldn't disrupt anything else on the network.

..oh by the way, I'm not from Finland and I did not dump tfh's site (and no, I did not use a proxy either)

4 years already And the site has grown quite a bit Over 600 games playable online, thanks to the great WebMSX emulator by Paulo Peccin. Added Arabic, MSXDev and Homebrew sections.
Mirrored the Hans Otten MSX pages and one of the biggest MSX Archives. And of course the File-Hunter.com Android App to play your favourite MSX games everywhere.
Yep.. a lot of things have changed in the last 4 years. My health is finally where it should be, a new job... TFH is happy :)

I personally consider MSXDev as THE most important "event" for MSX. The number of game the MSX has received due to this competition is simply amazing. And if I see the entries of this year, the prize-money and the loot-box (I also know what is still to come for the loot-box). I'm also looking forward to next years edition.
So I am just gratefull I can put these entries online for the community to play
