I'm only slowly starting to believe that this is all a real deal and not just some heavily hacked up clone with some MSX tR parts inside. I must say I have pretty mixed feelings... Although I like MSX tR more than any other computer, I've had this hobby from a kid and I'm very exited about these new findings, I don't have the latest and best version of MSX tR anymore... Not even all MSX tR models anymore. What kind of tR enthusiast am I? These devices have been around for more than 20 years! (I'm having an mental break down moment right now...) I thought that I knew all of MSX tR, but now I feel empty... The very fundamentals of my life has been shaken. Maybe I should go to visit a therapist or something.

It's good to ridiculize the thought, but in essence, I really feel this way Smile

He may still be recovering from the shock. :-)

I wonder if my TMNT demo works on it, the demo stress most of the turboR capabilities. If the timings are different from Panasonic's it will show. Here's the link again in case you want to try:

http://www.ricbit.com/temp/attract.zip

(It accesses the pcm through the i/o ports so, if it has a pcm, it should work even though call pcmrec is not).

Very nice find! I wonder what kind of unknown and special MSX-es are out there waiting to be discovered...

Wow, I'm not sure what I find more amazing. That there is the existence of a third TurboR computer or the existence of a "Bed Computer". lol

I'm still completely baffled indeed. Shocked beyond belief. In fact, you've all put it very nicely yourselves Smile

Of course I want to know everything about this machine and have all data dumped, so we can also preserve it in emulation. Very interested in PCB photos too! And output of the dumping tools for the ROMs and the slot layout.

1) I didn't knew for sure
2) Not totally an accident
3) I bought it with a guess
4) Yahoo's seller probably didn't know what he was selling. So he couldn't tell me anything
5) I have some tips and clues. So, with them, I searched for this one.

I have a small list of equipaments that I guess are MSXs, and I try to buy those equipaments when I found some of them. I was wrong too many times and have a big pile of random electronic devices at my home.

Thank you for shedding a light! To be honest this really was the first question that popped into my mind, how did he know? Big smile

Now I am going to look at every piece of random 80's/90's electronic equipement also Big smile

Also, I would be interested in a ROM dump as well (and I bet everyone else here Big smile )

I share the thoughts of Latok, Nyyrikki and Manuel. Although aesthetically I'm still very pleased with my turboR. How come we all didn't hear from this before? How many more gems are there to still be discovered (or never will?)

Although I'm quite sure the R800 is clocked at the same speed as the Panasonic turboR's, I'd still like to see some benchmarks to confirm.

I asked AUCNET about the availability of this machine and the relevant satellite auction system, but their answer was that the auction system is no longer active and none of the equipment is remaining.
Still, I got an interesting info that the system had been active until 2006, well into the age of internet. I guess the auction system was a success in the pre-internet era.

Is there any plug hole or something to connect the satellite antenna to? And does it come with any manual?
