This might not work to have "in-game" buttons, like mapping to a button for "Jump" (instead of Up) in Maze Of Galious, as the directions buttons would be over-written by the new buttons. But I'm pretty sure it should work for the Weapons / Items menus in Metal Gear and MOG.
I agree this method is limited but it may be useful. (items, pause, save, mega-bomb, radio, weapons, etc)
Nice Games in 1 Cartbridge. I have the first Sega Mega Drive Joypad. these can also be used with this Game.
Hi
I might be wrong but I guess it is pretty simple to add an option (even better detect the different MEGA SCC hardware in place) and run RmglOcm romloader executable in my case
Can you make a version for MegaSramSCC?
That will be the next steps for SofaRun. I'm already thinking about that, but I might need some help on this.
I have the choice between:
- Use external loader (like OPFXSD.COM or mglOCM). I need the loader to NOT execute the cartridge directly if you want to benefit from Game Masters options.
- Flash/load the cartridge inside SofaRun. That would be cleaner and quicker. I think the ESE SCC flash process is not so complex, but for MegaFlashROM SCC+ I'll need Manuel Pazos agreement (and I could understand he would'nt agree with that), and very probably source code for that.
The next supported flash-device will be the MegaFlashROM SCC+ (non-sd).
Let me know if you have ideas or enlightments about support for other devices. I'm not even sure about how many different types of flash cartridges we have on MSX ??
Another issue with the external rom loader solution is that I'm pretty sure that support for 16Kb mappers on ESE-SCC (or any 8Kb flasdh device), will require some calls to page 3 RAM somewhere, which might interfere with what SofaRun is already using

Ah yes, that's true, forgot that because I put this :
on all my MSXs joystick ports :D
Nice.
Maybe the cable below is a better solution for the adapter.
Haha, funny cross-posting :-)
Louthrax, wonderful program, thank you very much!!
Hi,
I built the joyMega adapter and used it with this pad:
http://www.ebay.es/itm/Mando-Pad-Sega-Megadrive-Genesis-NEW-...
Using the JoyMega test program provided by FRS to test it (http://frs.badcoffee.info/files/joymega.lzh) I only obtain 3 buttons configuration (ABC and START button). X, Y and Z are not detected. I noticed this pad don't have MODE button. Anybody try to connect with this kind of pad with joymega?
Regards!!
Hi,
I noticed that the scheme for the FRS JoyMega is a little diferent (it used a 74LS04; I constructed the joymega adapter using the schematic in this forum and we are using a transistor and two resistor, probably be the same). About the transistor I used was a BC107B (the one provided in the shop as equal to BC547).How can I detect the problem? Could the transistor legs are connected to the inverse? (this transistor is round and I'm not sure about emitter, collector and base ping)
This is wat i could find on the transistor.
But It works with the, 3 buttons, then you build it the right way.
I have not tried a 6 button joypad yet.
