Hi all,

I'm looking to sell a SV-328 I dug up in a fit of nostalgia.

Tried it out and appears to work fine, although I know some of the cassettes were a bit glitchy even in the 80's and early 90's when I was still using the system.

My family actually won this system as part of a JVC promotion, likely around 1986. Contains everything that came with it at the time;

SV-328 computer, SV-904 cassette deck (tested and working with SASA), original Australian power adapter, original modulator and RF switch output cable, SV-328 manual and various promotional flyers and literature (might be of interest to collectors), two working joysticks, and around 10 cassettes, 1 cartridge.

Software included

  • Spectra Home Economist
  • Introduction To BASIC
  • Armoured Assault
  • Busy Bee
  • Telebunny
  • SASA
  • Turboat
  • Tetra Horror
  • Old Mac Farmer
  • Spectron
  • Swing Man
  • Just Write Jr. (cartridge)

I only tried out SASA and it worked, but I know some of the cassettes have issues, so no guarantees they all work. Actual system appears to be fine with no issues, although the video output connector might be a little frayed - I got a little bit of static on screen connecting to the actual 1986 TV that came with the prize. (A few strategic cord-jiggles fixed the issue.)

Does anyone actually buy things like this? What would be a good starting point for this package? Any thoughts appreciated.

There isn't really many hobbyists or collectors using SVI-328. After all it isn't MSX compatible machine and it had quite a marginal success in Europe and rest of the world (but was - of course - forefather to MSX system). Maybe it might interest someone who has used SVI-328 in his past and could offer for this kind of lot about 50-100 euros. I'm not really 100% sure about the actual price, but why don't keep it yourself as your memories are closely linked to it's past? You might regret selling it later. Wink

If you're willing to split the lot, I would love to make you an offer for SASA, Turboat tapes and the cartridge Smile

SASA was quite a good game wasn't it?

I'll have to set up the system again to see if Turboat works. Pretty sure the cartridge would work, those things are indestructible.

I'll get back to you after I re-test the software...

Apologies for the delays in getting back to everyone, been a bit hectic over Christmas and New Year. Will plug in and double check the cassettes shortly...

I would be interested in your SVI-328 stuff. Feeling a little nostalgic myself. LEt me know if they still available and which country you from?
